The New York Times - All Access

The New York Times is available to students, faculty, and staff with access provided by Albertsons Library. Activate complimentary access by creating an account with your Boise State email address. Get started browsing The New York Times today for international, national, business, and New York regional news as well as science, medicine, arts, sports, and lifestyle news.

 

Boise State University subscription includes access to the following:

  • The New York Times: 1851-present
  • The TimesMachine: An interactive digital replica of The New York Times as it appeared in print from 1851-2002.
  • The New York Times inEducation: Offers continually updated teaching resources with newspapers selected from influential educators worldwide, recommended NYTimes.com articles, and real-life teaching applications in different subjects/co-curricular activities.

Manage Your New York Times Account

Create Your Account

New users can create an account by: 

  • Navigating to http://accessnyt.com/
  • Search for and select “Boise State University
    • You will be redirected to the NYT registration page.
  • Click "Create Account" using your Boise State University issued @edu email and click "Continue". If you do not already have an account, you will need to create a password. 
  • You will receive a confirmation email to verify your email address to complete the account setup. Click the link in the email to validate your email address.
  • You will be prompted to indicate if you are Student or Staff. When selecting Student, you will be asked to provide your graduation year and an alternate email address. Your New York Times access will be valid until December of your graduation year. 

     
  • You will get a notice that "You've Claimed your NYTimes Pass!" Click "Get Started" to continue setting up and personalize your New York Times experience.

Returning Users

Once you have registered and confirmed your email address, returning users simply need to visit https://www.nytimes.com/ or connect via the mobile app and log in. 

Existing Subscribers

Users who have an existing individual New York Times paid subscription using your Boise State email address will need to cancel their subscription before setting up your Boise State University access. To cancel an existing subscription, contact The New York Times Customer Care:

Renewing Your Subscription

Student subscriptions are active through December of the graduation year entered when signing up for an account. 

  • For example, if your graduation year is 2027, you will have access through 12/31/2027.

Faculty and staff subscriptions are active for four years and can be renewed by following the steps in the Create Your Account tab.
