The app will then set up the senors, you will want the sensors to be between 3-5 feet away from each other
Step Five:
Enter your height, you only need to enter the height of the person setting up the Oculus as it helps it set the floor position properly in experiences.
The Sensors will need calibrated to make sure they are tracking the user and controllers correctly. The Guardian is the barrier around the user's play space.
Intializing Sensor Tracking
Step One:
Grab one of the Touch Controllers
Step Two:
Take a few steps back, towards the middle of what your play area will be
Step Three:
Hold the Touch Controller near your face and hold the trigger until a green circle is filled on screen
Step One:
Take the controller
Step Two:
Squeeze and hold the trigger button as you walk around the edges of your play space
Be careful not to block the controller from the sensors with your body
Ideally you want at least 5x5 feet of space as your play area.
Things to Note:
Oculus Headsets are desigined to fit snuggly on your head. They have a top strap and two side straps that you can use to adjust how it fits on your head.
Step One:
Loosen all the straps
Step Two:
Set the headset on your head
Step Three:
Starting from the back of your head, place the triangle comfortably in the back, then using the straps tighten the headset until it is firmly placed on your face
The Oculus App will then take you through how to be safe while using the Rift and Touch systems.
You can also view the same video below.
On the bottom right of the headset, there is the lens slider. This adjusts the distance between the lens and your eyes. Adjusting it will change how things appear, making them more or less blurry.
Another thing that affects how out of focus the experiences will be is if the headset is firmly on your head or not.
