Academic Search Premier does contain engineering content, so it's a great place to start searching for technical information.
Comparing with some of the indexes in the box to the left, Compendex has greater depth in engineering topics (many more journals, plus conference proceedings); Web of Science has more breadth in journals (covers all disciplines-- science, engineering, medicine, social sciences and humanities, with no magazine or newspaper content); Applied Science and Technology includes fewer magazines and journals, but the focus is on applied science, engineering, and technology sources.
