Embedding library resources in Canvas

Albertsons Library has online guides (LibGuides) created by librarians to give students a starting point for research in their respective subject areas and to help students use library resources more effectively.  

In Blackboard, the guides were automatically embedded through a special program/building block.  This building block is not available in Canvas.  Do not worry.  You can still embed a LibGuide into your Canvas Course so it is easier for students to access Library Resources.

How do I do it you ask?  

How to embed a LibGuide into my Canvas Course?

1. Select "Add Item" to your course module.
   

2. Select "External URL" in the dropdown list.
   

3. Type in the URL in the URL section, or copy and paste it from the list of LibGuides.

4. Give your LibGuide page a name.  See LibGuide names in the list of LibGuides.
   

5. Click "Add Item" and you should be able to see a LibGuide embedded to a Canvas page.
   

6. Click on the link and it will open the LibGuide on a page within Canvas.
