Educational Video Sites

Watch Know Learn: Founded by educators, Watch Know Learn is a collection of hundreds of teacher uploaded videos for ages 3-18. These videos cover a broad spectrum of topics for use in elementary and secondary schools.

Zane Education: Videos, quizzes, and a study center have been produced specifically for the K-12 curriculum; covers 11 subjects and 240 curriculum topics with subtitled videos.

TeAchnology: Teacher time-savers, lesson plans, rubrics, teaching tips, web quests, worksheet makers, and other free teacher resources for K-12.

Annenberg Media: The Annenberg foundation has made available 100 multimedia courses to help teachers develop teaching strategies and class content in all areas of study, grades K-college/adult.

Teachers' Domain: Free digital media from public TV broadcasters for educational use; can search for content via Idaho state standards (and other states), Common Core State Standards, or national standards from different organizations.

PBS Learning Media: PreK-13 PBS series such as "Curious George STEM" and "Kids in Motion" are available here for free streaming. Browse by grade, subject, standard, or video collection.

HippoCampus: Designed for Open Education Resources (OER), HippoCampus offers streaming video, simulations, worked exercizes, and test prep for subjects in middle school grades through college.  Also offers many resources for instructors.

Teacher Tube: This is an online collection of videos for teachers by teachers. Educators upload videos they have made or found useful for other teachers to access. The teachers who use this resource also discuss relevant videos and can work together to remove videos that may be inappropriate for the K-12 classroom setting.

 

TED: Technology, Entertainment, Design: TEDTalks are an excellent resource. These talks come from leading experts in their fields discussing issues at the heart of today's debates. With over 500 TEDTalks available and more added every week, one can find poignant discussions on nearly any subject.
