Guide to Music resources at Albertsons Library, Boise State University

Physical Audio Materials in the Library

  • Albertsons Library has an extensive collection of CDs, LPs, and even some tapes that you can listen to in the library or check out to take home. 
  • They are all located in the Music Listening Room on the Third Floor of Albertsons Library. This room is a large study space and has the means to play any of the material in it.
  • To find out if we have a physical copy of a particular work, search in the library catalog using keywords from the title and perhaps the name of the composer. 
    • Limit your search to just Materials Available from Albertsons Library.
    • Also Limit to a form of recorded sound, something like Music CDs.
  • If you do not find a copy of a recording directly at Albertsons Library do not despair!, Interlibrary Loan is available for audio materials.
    • To see if there is a physical copy you can get through Interlibrary get rid of the limiter for Only Albertsons Library and just keep the CD and/or LP limiter.
    • The follow the prompts to request from Interlibrary Loan.

Physical Films at the Library

  • Albertsons Library has an extensive collection of physical films (including lots of concert and opera) that you can check out to take home. 
  • To find out if we have a physical copy of a particular film search in the library catalog using keywords from the title and perhaps the name of the composer. 
    • Limit your search to just Materials Available from Albertsons Library.
    • Also Limit to a form of physical Video, like DVD Video.
  • If you do not find a copy of a film directly at Albertsons Library do not despair!, Interlibrary Loan is available for audio materials.
    • To see if there is a physical copy you can get through Interlibrary get rid of the limiter for Only Albertsons Library and just keep the Video limiter.
    • The follow the prompts to request from Interlibrary Loan.
