    General Information

Listed here are resources that can help you determine a topic and then begin searching for general information related to the disease or condition selected.  Also, noting the medical terminology being used in the article will be helpful when you are searching for a research article.

    MedlinePlus

This comprehensive website is created by the National Library of Medicine to provide links to authoritive information on a wide range of medical conditions, as well as definitions and current news.  Browsing for a topic is easily done in this resource.  Note: MedlinePlus is a different resource than Medline.

    Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine

Gale Encyclopedia of Nursing and Allied Health

Conditions and common diseases, as well as body systems and functions, are arranged alphabetically in these two resources.  They are also searchable. These encyclopedia articles may contain a description of the condition, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments.
