IDAHO DAILY STATESMAN, July 26, 1864-. Title has varied. The Statesman is included in Subject Index of Early Idaho Newspapers (BSU microfilm #37) covering the period through the 1880’s. The State Historical Library has a card index of the Statesman which takes the index through the 1890’s. Idaho State Historical Library has some selective indexing for recent years. The Boise Public Library (715 S. Capital Blvd.) has a partial index for the 1920-30’s. Inquire at the reference desk. The Statesman itself has some indexing begun in the early 1970’s. The Statesman’s web address is: http://www.idahostatesman.com. Indexing and full-text from 1999 (except for the issues published between July 23, 2000 and October 18, 2000) under “Idaho Statesman” on the “Article Indexes and Online Databases” page http://library.boisestate.edu/find/databases.php.

Albertsons Library Archives and Special Collections have been indexing Boise State related articles since the early 1980’s.  Ask at the Archives desk during regular hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm Mon. – Fri.) for help with this index, or see the paper index (1985-2000) in the Reference Department.  Albertsons Library indexed local/regional news to the “Home Edition” May, 1981-1996.

NEW YORK TIMES, full-text web access from 1851-2004 through the New York Times (Historical) index http://library.boisestate.edu/find/databases.php#H.  The paper is OCR scanned and you will get “false” results from mis-scanning. The paper is mostly full-text from 1980-current through the National Newspaper index and available on microfilm 1851-.

Good for sports articles at the national level.
