Details and statistics

The single best general reference book on Idaho is the Idaho Blue Book (online or in print at ref JK7531). Published every two years, this book describes the organization of each branch of state government, lists state officials, and gives voting results of recent elections. It also profiles each county and lists economic and demographic facts about Idaho.

Crime in Idaho summarizes annual data submitted by Idaho law enforcement agencies to the state and federal government.

Idaho Vital Statistics (ref HA331 D45a) summarizes annual city, county, and district births, deaths, income, teen pregnancy, etc.

Idaho Community and County Profiles provides statistical data on all of Idaho's forty-four counties and its many large and small communities.

Idaho Statistical Abstract (ref HC107 I2 I17) covers Idaho's economy, social topics, and the environment.

Idaho Legislative Budget Book (online or in print at ref HJ11 I234a) is the best overview of state spending. Published annually by the state legislature, this book shows in great detail where state money comes from and where it goes, agency-by-agency, program-by-program.

Weekly Bill Status (Legal ref KFI6 .D3) is the public record of the Idaho State Legislature. At the end of each legislative session, a final edition presents a complete record of legislation introduced during the session. It also tells the history of each bill, including how it was finally disposed of during the session just ended.

The government of the State of Idaho also maintains an official website, http://www.idaho.gov/, that provides information regarding many other aspects of Idaho life.
