Chicago/Turabian Style
When professors and instructors ask you to write using "Chicago Style", they are referring to an editorial and citation style used by academic fields such as history and other huamanities. It includes rules regarding puncuation, paper formatting, and reference citations. The University of Chicago Press has established a book on this set of standards, called The Chicago Manual of Style. A similar style (Turabian) named after its author, Kate Turabian, is very similar to Chicago Style, with more of an emphasis on students writing formal research papers rather than publications.
