The Blackwell Companion to Law and Society is an authoritative study of the relationship between law and social interaction. Thirty-three original essays by an international group of expert scholars examine a wide range of critical questions, covering topics such as the various legal systems favored by different societies and cultures, the effect that law has on scientific and technical advancement, and how legal institutions have embraced and constructed, as well as silenced and stigmatized, various national, social, cultural, and personal identities.

How do I find legal materials? 

Most legal materials in the Library have call numbers that begin with the letter K and to a lesser extent JX (International law) and can be found at those call number locations in the general collection (3^rd floor) and the Reference Collection (1^st floor). 

Call numbers of legal materials related specifically to Idaho begin with the letters KFI.  For patron convenience many commonly used legal publications  (e.g., The Boise City Code, The Idaho Code and The United States Code) have been grouped together in the Legal Reference area (Index stacks 91B and 92A). 

The most comprehensive collection of legal materials in Boise is at the Idaho State Law Library (208)334-3316.
