Find Books

Typically Communication books in the library will be found under call number H (social sciences) or P (language), but since Communication is a broad subject area, you might find related books in other areas of the library.

    Search the full text of top telecommunications industry publications. Includes magazines, journals, and newsletters for the latest in this fast changing industry. Coverage starts 1995
  • Lexis Nexis Academic
    Looking for Radio or TV news transcripts? This is the place to go. Ask if you need help.
  • Web of Science / Web of Knowledge
    A great interdisciplinary database that also tracks citations. Be sure to use the FIND IT button to locate the full-text article.
  • America History and Life
    Use this resource to locate historical articles, books, or chapters on your topic. You can limit by specific ERA
  • American Film Scripts Online
    American Film Scripts Online contains 1,009 scripts by 1,062 writers together with detailed, fielded information on the scenes, characters and people related to the scripts. In addition, the database includes facsimilie images for more than 500 of these screenplays. Most of the scripts have never been published before, and nowhere else are they available online.
  • Alternative Press Index
    articles from over 300 international alternative, radical, and left periodicals. Covering theories and practices of socialism and revolution alongside ecology, democracy and anarchism, feminism and organized labor, indigenous peoples and gays/lesbians, API coverage is both international and interdisciplinary. Coverage begins in 1991.

  • Social Sciences Citation Index  
    Rating
    Allows one to see who is citing whom and where. A great research tool.
  • PsycINFO  
    Rating
    Indexes abstracts of psychological journals. Some students have founds this helpful in the Communication research.
