Below are the databases available to Boise State University students related to Communication. These will allow you find and access articles from journals on Communication.

Communication Studies Resources – University of Iowa  A list of pages in the area of Communication Studies with links to other resources.  Included are links to pages listing discussion lists and electronic journals.

Media and Communication Studies Site
This British-based site provides access to internet-based resources useful in the academic study of media and communication and is hosted by the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (From About this Site page).  There are links to articles, lists of recommended reading, and other links to a wide variety of topics

Communication Studies, Cultural studies, Media studies Infobase by Mick Underwood  British emphasis site with commentary, articles, and links to other resources. (currently not available)

Studies of Mass Media, by Michael Kearl, Trinity University -- Michael Kearl, Trinity University, has collected links to various media studies and to media sites available on the web.  He also includes a case study on television.

Research Methods / Statistics

Research Methods and Statistics  -Michael Kearl, Trinity University, provides some links that help interested individuals "brush up" on their methodology and statistics.  He also provides links to Data Resources.   These resources are on his site, Sociological Tour through Cyberspace.

Resources for Methods in Evaluation and Social Research Do you have a question about "how to do" evaluation research?  Ya-Lin Liu and Gene Shackman provide a multitude of links to free sites that help with these questions.

Research Tools and Methods (INTUTE): From the United Kingdom's INTUTE: Social Sciences, this site provides numerous links grouped broadly into categories of "Research Tools" and "Research Methods".  Research Methods is further divided into resources for "Qualitative Research" or "Quantitative Research".  On each page, links are grouped into categories such as books/book equivalents, data, and educational materials.  

 

Specialized Sources

 ACA: American Communication Association Web site for the American Communication Association.

Directory of Scientific Journals in Media and Communication From Nordicom, Nordic Information Centre for Media and Communication Research, this directory lists open access journals and print journals that may also be published electronically.  Each entry has some information about the journal, and a link to the journal's home page

Communication Institute for Online Scholarship Gives access to Tables of Contents for communications journals, forums, directories, and other services for communication studies.  This organization produces and distributes ComAbstracts as one of its services.

Email discussions for Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication and Media Studies
From the University of Iowa, Department of Communication Studies this site lists discussion lists on topics relevant to communication studies.  Also includes a link to another searchable list of discussion lists.

Google Groups  Use this service to search for Usenet newsgroup postings and lists from 1981 to current.
