Communication / Public Relations Databases

Below are the databases available to Boise State University students related to Communication. These will allow you find and access articles from journals on Communication.

Look for the  button to link out to possible full-text access to the articles you find.

    A business database which contains Public Relations Journal and Public Relations Quarterly, among other PR resources.
  • PROQUEST Central
    A multi-disciplinary database that contains great background information from magazines, journals, and newspapers.
  • Communication & Mass Media Complete (EBSCO)
    A great mix of full-text and indexing coverage. The recommended starting point for most Communication research.Includes full text for Journal of Public Relations Research, Public Relations Quarterly, Public Relations Research Annual, and Journal of Promotion Management.
  • Business Source Premier
    A good place to look for PR information.Full-text from scholarly journals and trade publications covering all areas of business. Includes Journal of Consumer Research and Public Relations Tactics
  • ComAbstracts
    The premier finding aid for Communications research. Use this tool to find articles and chapters on your topic. Be sure to click on the FIND IT button in the item record to link to library resources.
  • Lexis Nexis Academic
    Indexes and provides full-text to articles from major US newspapers, international newspapers and other journals and magazines. Includes the trade journals B & T Weekly, O'Dwyer's P R Services Report, and PR Week. Also include information on laws and legal cases.
  • WESTLAW Campus: Journals & Law Reviews
    This resource has multiple newspapers and news wires as well as links to court cases and law reviews.
  • Library Database A-Z List
    Select from over 250+ database to search for information on your public relations topic.

Find Books

Typically Communication books in the library will be found under call letter H (social sciences) or P (language), but since Communication is a broad subject area, you might find related books in other areas of the library. For books specific to Public Relations you probably want to look under HD (Business).

    Search inside books! Then check the Library catalog to see if we've got it. If not, then request it through Inter-Library loan.

    Search for books in other major libraries and if we don't have them you can click the "FIND IT" button to request it through Inter-Library Loan.
